Worship, Love, Grow
St. Thomas, Abingdon
A Spiritual home where all can encounter the Divine and experience God’s Love.
"Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in
perfect harmony."
Colossians 3:14
With these words, the Apostle Paul commends the Christians in Colossae to embrace a new life in Christ in which they seek to bear one another's burdens and share one another's joys. It is this new life that we seek to embody at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church in Abingdon, Virginia.
We invite you to be part of this remarkable community and clothe yourself with love in this place, through worship, learning, and service.
Happy New Year
Grace and peace to you, people of St. Thomas! My name is Heather Ma, and I am overjoyed and honored to serve as your next rector. I come to you after spending the last decade in ministry as a spiritual director, chaplain, counselor, priest, and pastor across a diverse spread of ecumenical contexts. I am a musician and a yoga teacher as well, and I love exploring both as ways of deepening our connection to God and to one another through body, mind, and spirit. I also come to you with my beloved partner, Paul, our precious toddler, Faye, and our newest joy, baby Marius, who entered the world on November 10. We so look forward to meeting you, seeking and serving Christ with you, and sharing life together in this new season.
The Grace of Giving
